Mthatha Town ~ In and around Mthatha

Nduli Nature Reserve

Either hike or use mountain bike's to view this 5km circular drive. View the beautiful rock gardens, see wild animals or just enjoy the view of Mthatha from afar. This reserve is 1km away from the backpackers.



Old Buildings

Mthatha still have beautifull old preserved buildings, build from the finest cut sand stone.
Take a walk around the city to explore these buildings.


Eastern Cape Arts and Craft Hub

Visit the EC Arts and Craft hub and view some of the beautiful art and craft from local artists in and around the Mthatha area.

For any visa or passport issues you can visit Home Affairs, it is easy and quick here as there are not many people using this office. You can extend you visa here for R400 but sometimes you need a medical checkup. A shuttle service is available to and from Home Affairs

Fishing - Fresh and salt water

Mabeleni Dam - to do trout fishing (we have a anual trout classic competition with big prizes to be won)

Nqadu Dam - Bass Fishing with beautifull plantation and forest suroundings.
Mbolompo point near Lubanzi is very renown to all shore fisherman for its exelent deep waters but in general the whole of the Wild Coast is exelent for sea fishing (we will help you find the best spot)

4x4 Drives
The Transkei and Wild Coast is exellent for off road driving and lots of places to explore on day trips.
